2012 : How is the tablet industry going to be like?

In a few hours time, we will be welcoming the new year. 2012 will still be another exciting year for geeks like myself because of the devices that Apple will be launching this year. Definitely, we will not be expecting the iPhone 5 since the 4S was launched not long ago. But with all eyes on the iPad 3, Apple will keep their focus on the tablet industry. I strongly believe that Apple will launch this tablet very cautiously since many tablet makers like Amazon, with their Kindle Fire and Asus's Transformer Prime tablet have made their tablets to perfection. I am sure that Apple is able to amaze their customers with their iPad 3 with its stunning Retina Display. Apple was the first to create the tablet industry and I believe that the iPad will dominate the other tablet manufacturers.

Logitech Speaker System Z103

I decided get a better speaker for my PC since my current speaker is old and produces lousy sound quality. I was on a tight budget and I decided to choose the Logitech Speakers. Logitech is one of the reputable companies that produces good quality speakers as well as other hardwares. The box contains 2 speakers and a subwoofer and I simply need it to enjoy my music. Here are some of the photos of my new speaker.

Real racing 2 HD Review

I just made my review of the Real Racing 2 HD on Youtube. I tried my best to review this app and I hope you guys will like my video. This is my first ever video review on Youtube and I am excited to share this with the world! This video is entirely edited using iMovie, including my voice recording that is recorded through my Macbook Air. However, I know that the video quality of the camera that is used to capture the gameplay is not beautiful, because the resolution of the video is only 640x480. I will try my best to produce a video of higher quality! Anyway, comment on the video if you find it interesting, hit the like button if you like it! Thanks :)

Nokia's partnership with Microsoft

After Microsoft came into partnership with Nokia, Nokia came out with the Lumia 800 that is powered by Microsoft's Windows Phone 7 Operating System. I wasn't really anticipated about Nokia phones at the beginning during their announcement, but shortly after, when I got my hands on with the Lumia 800, it changed by perspective towards how Nokia engineered their phones. Nokia is a great company that produces creative and beautiful hardware, but they couldn't find the recipe for a proper software to suit the phone. But after collaborating with Microsoft to use their software for their own hardware, it was a life-changing moment for Nokia. I strongly believe that more users would be choosing Nokia phones than Android phones in the near future. This partnership with Microsoft definitely benefits Nokia in the long term in the mobile industry. The Lumia 800 should be the foundation of the quality Nokia phones should be as I was impressed by both the hardware and software.

Kingston Micro-SD (8GB)

I just got myself a 8GB Micro-SD card from Kingston so that I am able to use my broadband stick as a thumb drive. It comes with a adapter in the form of a SD card, so that the computer can read the Micro-SD card through an SD slot. I personally have a 1GB Micro-SD in the past that comes with my Nokia E63, but after I sold that phone, the card was basically useless. 1GB is also too small for me to save my movies or data whick I decided that a 8GB one would satisfy my needs.

Rumors Roundup on the iPad 3

All eyes are set upon the launch of the next generation iPad. Rumored to have a Retina Display, this device will have an astonishing resolution of 2048x1536. Many rumors stated that Apple will be creating a 7.85 inch iPad that is similar to the size of the Kindle Fire, but I don't probably think that this will be true. I strongly believe that Apple will continue to use its current size of 9.7 inch as what Steve Jobs visioned an iPad's size would be. Steve Jobs never wanted a tablet to be less than 9.7 inch. Anyway, it will use the new A6 quad-core processor manufactured by Samsung. The design of the iPad 3 will not deviate too much from the iPad 2, but put it simply, just a hardware upgrade to the device itself. The iPad might support Siri like how it was supported for the iPhone 4S. It will be set to launch around March-April next year and I am looking forward to it!

Christmas Holiday Video

I just posted another iMovie video on Youtube for this festive season. This video is based on my holiday trip to Malaysia and I decided to make this video before the holiday season arrives. I apologise for the 360p video quality as I lack of disk space on my Macbook Air. Enjoy the video!

Lizo (力众) LZ-1396B Battery Pack Review

24 hours after using the battery, I am pretty amazed by this device's capability. It's 9600mAh capacity was stunning as it could charge 60% of my iPhone using only 25% of its battery power. Personally, I haven't try it with my iPad, but I am confident that this battery is able to charge my iPad fully. The weight so far isn't much of a problem, but the only thing is that you must charge the battery for about 15 hours to be fully charged. Anyway, I'm pretty contented with the battery's performance and its capabilities, and I strongly recommend this to users with devices that has a weak battery.

Lizo (力众) LZ-1396B Battery Pack First Impressions

Just got a battery pack from Deal Extreme.  Weighing at 270g, this  9600mAh battery from Lizo ( åŠ›ä¼—) is capable of charging an iPad to 100% or 2 times a full charge for an iPhone.  In the box, you will receive the battery pack, a USB cable with 7 adaptors of different devices. This battery can be charged using a PC through a USB cable. I strongly recommend frequent travelers to buy an external portable battery similar to this as it helps to provide extra power for your handheld devices. My iPhone has a deteriorating battery that can't even last me half a day when excessive usage.  I had a few external batteries in the past that serves as a power source for my iPhone, but their power capacity was about 1250mAh which was not powerful enough to provide a full charge for my phone. With this battery, I need not worry of my phone running out of power. This post is simply my first impressions of this battery, tune in to my blog for more future reviews!

Factors for creating good movies

In this few days, I've been racking my brain to come out with a creative iMovie video and host it on Youtube. But I kept running out of ideas. Producing iMovie projects requires must time and effort into making a good project. Patience is another critical factor to produce great movies. I will be giving by best efforts to create a movie of creativity. :-)

Huawei E173 3G Modem

My Uncle recently gave me his brand new Huawei E173 Broadband stick/3G Modem. With this modem, I am able to connect to the internet anywhere on the go. I already have a 3G SIM card and I just insert the card into the modem. In the past, I usually use my iPhone's Personal Hotspot feature to use 3G on the go, but I am restricted to 12GB of capped data. With this modem, I am able to use the internet freely without the need to worry of excess data usage. This modem also works as a Micro-SD card reader, which serves as a thumb drive for me to place my files and bring it on the go.

HelloWorld!

Just created a new video using iMovie 2011. Through this new Youtube channel, I will post much of my iMovie projects and share with the world. This also serves as a platform to show people how amazing iMovie is, and starting your first iMovie project isn't as difficult as you imagine. Enjoy!

Micro-Sim Adapter

So, after a short holiday it is time for blogging again and I just bought myself a Micro-Sim Adapter. iPhone 4 / 4S uses Micro-Sim card which is not applicable to other devices and it could be a major bugbear when my iPhone is faulty and I have to use other phones. That's why I got the adapter. It costs S$4 at Sim Lim Square and fits into my devices perfectly. If you go to DealExtreme, they also offer a similar adapter that costs about US$1.

Holiday

I wasn't posting much blogs this few days because I was off for a short holiday. I just came back from Malaysia. I enjoyed the food over there, as it is nice and cheap which is really hard to find in Singapore. I stayed in hotels that were filled with the festive atmosphere where christmas trees were beautifully decorated. Hope to go there for a holiday soon!

Epad Transformer Prime

The Transformer Prime by Asus became a more powerful tablet with a quad core processor. The tablet is also affordable if you want a proper Android tablet and it is the best Android tablet as compared to others. Together with its OS, it is one of the best device I have ever seen! It also comes with a keyboard accessory (with trackpad) that is sold separately, and it makes your Tablet a Asus netbook. In addition, the tablet appears a cursor when the keyboard is connected and you could use the trackpad like any other laptops

iPhone explosion (Mid-air)

Recently, an iPhone 4 exploded mid-air on a Australian flight from Lismore to Sydney. Sources said that the phone emitted a glow, before exploding. No one was hurt during the explosion and the phone was sent to Apple for investigations. This rare incident might be fatal if Apple don't find out immediately what was the cause as iPhones are still in the hands of millions of people. The photo on the right is the exploded phone. Looks pretty bad...

Learning Android ain't easy

Currently at Wei Meng's Foundation Android Development and learning Android is really difficult. Java language is very new to me and I can't really adapt the Java environment. x_x
